“..David had done the will of God in his own generation…” (Acts 13:36)

We recognize that our purpose as parents is to raise and equip our children for adulthood in THIS generation. They will face trials we have never experienced before, BUT God’s Word transcends beyond time and is applicable for all ages and stages of life.

“You must love the Lord your God with all you heart, all your soul, and all you strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children…” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7)

We must be intentional about being DOERS of the Word and not simply hearers. We must follow and commit our lives to God’s teachings and lead our children by example.

“Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses. So practice and over whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. They Crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.” (Matthew 23:1-4)

As parents, we must live by example for our children. That doesn’t mean be perfect, but point our children back to the one who is, Jesus, and show our children how to grow through our failures as we strive to be more Christ like in our thoughts, actions, and words.

“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)

Keeping and Sowing is a Biblical promise. How are you investing your Time, Treasures, Talents, and Thoughts to grow yourself, grow your children, and serve the Kingdom? God promises us that when we invest our best, He returns with blessings.
